Dear all,

My name is Paul Hynds; I am an EPA-funded research fellow in the School of Engineering, Dublin Institute of Technology currently working on a project entitled “Analyses and Modelling of the Hydrological Behaviour of Small Irish Catchments”. As part of the research, myself and my supervisor Dr Ahmed Nasr are undertaking an Expert Elicitation Survey of the current hydrometric network in Ireland. Summarily, we are investigation the current level of network usage and perceived strengths and weaknesses of the network itself and associated data. We hope to use this to make recommendations pertaining to current and future requirements and amendments. We would be extremely grateful if you as a professional in the area of Irish hydrology, hydrogeology and/or environmental science and a likely network data user could take the time to complete our short opinion-based survey; understandably, IAH members thus represent an important sample population. Overall, the survey will take 8-10 minutes to complete and is entirely confidential (no identifiable data is collated). The survey link is included below this paragraph; copying the link into your browser will bring you directly to the first question. Please feel free to forward the survey link to your contacts and/or colleagues working in the general hydrological area in
Ireland.

If you have any comments or queries pertaining to the survey or indeed the overarching research project, please do not hesitate to contact myself (hyndsp@tcd.ie) or Dr Nasr (ahmed.nasr@dit.ie) and we would be very happy to provide you with further details.

Sincere thanks in advance for your time and expertise

Best Wishes
Paul Hynds
