INESON Meeting 2017

The Ineson Meeting 2017 will be on 25 October 2017, on Africa, Groundwater and the Sustainable Development Goals. Photo Competition

IAH continually needs to add to its library of photos and the best way of picturing the Association at work is by asking its members. So our photo competition 'Picture our IAH' is back! It is open to all IAH members (2017 dues paid) with the exception of the Secretariat and Council. Winners from each category will receive £100 (or €/$ equivalent) and a free IAH book. The winning photographs will be used in IAH online and printed material. The closing date is 31st August 2017.

Survey Participation Request

An informal reference group drawn from IMQS, IT Carlow, Geoscience Ireland (GI) and drilling companies met to examine the status of qualifications for drillers in Ireland. The lack of formal qualifications militates against Irish companies tendering for work abroad - a key issue for GI. IT Carlow has, in principle, approved the provision of a Level 6 course to be delivered by the Dept. of Built Environment. To progress the proposal, they need further evidence of the need for such a course.

Amendments to the IAH Constitution

The IAH EGM was held on 8th March after the David Burdon lecture. The members in attendance were asked to cast their votes in relation to three proposed amendments to the constitution.
